Tough windy conditions today at Burghlee.

Two well matched teams meant we had a hard fought game. Lots of tough tackling and end to end play.

First half Loanhead had the early pressure and our defence played the offside trap well catching Haddington offside on 5 occasions.

The deadlock was Brocken after a Loanhead attack on the right resulted in a scramble in the box and an Ellis pass picked out Lachie who hit it home into an empty net. 1-0

Ellis was unlucky with multiple shots on goal. The best of which was a lob of the keeper which just went over. Edward had a strong half and showed good skills on the left.

Riley was working hard and had a good shot which was well saved and Edward almost scored the rebound.

Second half had Loanhead playing uphill into the wind and Haddington took the upper hand pushing hard for an equaliser. Danny came to the rescue multiple times sliding out to block their attacks.

Loanhead attacks were few and far between and we went route 1 with long balls a number of times.
Glen came closest for Loanhead with a long shot touched over the bar by the keeper and then a short time later a Jude pass had Glen take it on the half volley and almost score from 30 yards out.

Our defence really dug in and competed well against a physical attack and Loanhead held on for an excellent 1-0 win.

Man of the Match today went to Riley who worked hard the whole game, running into space and tackling hard and playing some great passes.
